Our boy Beau came to us as a rescue. Who rescued who has never been determined. He was quite underfed when we picked him up as he was in a foster home with a lot of other dogs. Beau was a pacifist and stepped away from his bowl the instant another dog approached it. As a result he was very hungry when we brought him home and promptly nipped two raw pork loins off the counter. We learned early on that Beau was a highly enthusiastic eater and he quickly gained back the weight he’d lost and more. We never had to clean up any dropped food from the floor. Beau got there first. Beau loved nothing more than to be with his family and particularly adored grandchild sleepovers. He was incredibly sweet, well mannered and uncomplaining despite severe hip dysplasia and a wonky front knee. A California dog from birth he was not a fan of North Carolina snow and rain but he tolerated it with good grace as he did everything in life.
It is impossible to adequately express our sadness at the loss of our beloved boy. We are very grateful to Dr. Beth for her compassion and professionalism. Beau got the peaceful transition to the next life he deserved. He wagged his tail when he met her and was never stressed or scared. He was hugged, loved and praised throughout the process in which he gradually relaxed and then simply went to sleep. We are very appreciative that Dr. Beth came to our home and sent Beau over the Rainbow Bridge with such gentleness and love.
